Music is an important part of worship at Northside Baptist Church, and there are many areas of opportunity for those who wish to use their God-given talents in the Fine Arts.  Please read further below for more information about Northside's Fine Arts Ministry. 

 

Areas of need include:

  • Substitute Musicians for these instruments: piano, organ, keyboard, drums, all guitars, any string instruments, etc.

  • Any electronic equipment

  • Celebration Choir members

  • Handbell Choir members

  • Technical Crew volunteers

  • Music Office volunteers

INSTRUMENTALISTS

Praise Bands:

We have three different praise bands that are made up of very creative and versatile musicians. They accompany worship and special music songs in each service as well as offertory specials as a group. To join any praise band, you need to contact the director for that group. The directors, rehearsals & locations are as follows:

  • Saturday 6:00 pm Service, Directed by Rob Bates - Rehearsals are held in the East Hall on Saturday nights, right before the service from 4:00—5:00 pm.

  • Sunday 9:00 am Service, Directed by Todd Donovan - Rehearsals are held in the sanctuary on Wednesday nights from 6:00—6:40 pm, with a warm-up on Sunday mornings at 8:15 am.

  • Sunday 10:30 am Service, Directed by Todd Donovan - Rehearsals are held in the sanctuary on Thursday evenings with a warm-up on Sunday mornings.

Handbell Choir, Directed by Patsy Geiger - This is a group of 10 bell ringers who meet once a week during September - December and play for our Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Eve services. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 5:30—6:45 pm in room e211. Anyone is welcome to join!

 

VOCALISTS

Celebration Choir

  • Directed by: Todd Donovan - The Celebration Choir is an exciting and dedicated choir that seeks to praise Jesus and uplift each other in prayer. The choir sings every Sunday in the 9:00 service.  Rehearsals are held Wednesday nights in the choir room (S207) from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. The choir has summers off!  There is no audition required and ALL are welcome to join!  Please contact Todd Donovan at 381-3642 for more information.

Praise Team

  • 10:30 a.m. Service Praise Teams, Directed by Todd Donovan - Two unique and finely tuned teams seek to engage people in genuine worship during the 10:30 a.m. service. They also sing special music selections. Each team alternates months leading in worship. They practice in the Sanctuary on Sunday nights from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. Auditions are required. Youth Choirs:

  • Cherubs: Directed by Tamara Mullholand - Four and five year-old cuties who sing twice a year in the Sunday services. They meet in room S105 on Sundays from 11:15 to 11:40 am. Teachers bring students to and from this fun music time.

  • KidsPRAISE: A fabulous kids choir for grades 1 through 5!  They meet Sunday from 10 to 10:30a.m. in room S105 with Director Lisa Kroll and Dinah McKinley.  All kids are welcome!

  • Testify:  Directed by Diana Burgess - A new & contemporary group formed just for students in grades 6-12. They sing special music and present dramas in all three services. They rehearse in the choir room on Sunday afternoons from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. Any Middle or High School student is welcome.
