The Great Commission, as it is often referred, is Jesus Christ’s last directive to His Church “to the end of the world” (Matthew 28:19-20). Northside’s Global Missions embrace the conviction that every believer has a place to fill in Global Missions- “to make disciples of Jesus Christ both here and abroad.” God’s plan is for His people to be the light of the world, because through them people will know about the redemption and salvation that is available through His Son, Jesus Christ.

God has no “Plan B.”

Global Missions is at the foundation of Northside Baptist Church. In fact, the very first offering taken way back in 1927 was designated for missionaries and we have kept that priority for the past 80+ years. A percentage of every offering given goes to support our more than 55 missionary families and ministries serving literally around the world where they are making disciples in the place where God has placed them to serve. And as we regularly hear from our missionaries as they visit us, they help us to consider other people in other places who need to hear the Gospel and help us to obey the Bible when the Apostle Paul said to not only look out for your own personal interests but also the interests of others.

We are also busy in our community with local evangelism and outreach missions and events, trying to take advantage of every opportunity that God provides for us to show His love to others. We partner with other organizations such as Somebody Cares Tampa Bay, Faith Tampa Bay, Dream Center and the City of St. Petersburg in order to serve our community through CareFest or Raise the Roof or Project Homeless Connect- basically any outreach event that gives us the opportunity to show and share the love of Christ, through which we are making disciples of Jesus Christ.
