Purpose The purpose of our youth ministry is the same as that of the church. According to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20), our desire is to make disciples of Jesus Christ both here and abroad teaching them to observe all that Christ has commanded. Philosophy of Youth MinistryWe find our philosophy of youth ministry in the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40). We want to raise up young men and women who love the Lord their God with all of their hearts, souls and minds; and who love their neighbors as themselves. With this in mind, we see a balanced youth ministry as being three-fold. In order to have balance within our ministry we must help teens grow in three major relational areas. 1.) Neighbor We believe that teens are called to be lights unto the world around them; therefore, we are committed to training young people in evangelism. 2.) Youth Ministry (Youth: young people collectively + Ministry: serving others = young people serving others) We believe that teens are called to be a part of the local body of Jesus Christ; therefore, we are committed to fellowship and the equipping of the saints for the work of service. 3.) God We believe that teens are called to have an intimate relationship with God; therefore, we are committed to discipleship, prayer and the study of His Word.
