We believe that prayer is, in its plainest and simplest sense, communication with God. Jesus taught His disciples to pray - one of the basic disciplines of the life He taught them to live. Prayer, when focused on God, is an act of worship.
Prayer is talking to God as you would talk to your father or someone else that you love dearly and respect greatly. Share the things that are on your heart, but be mindful to hear the things that are on His heart. Speak to Him, but listen to Him as well - no good conversation or relationship is only one-sided.
Prayer, as worship, is not really about asking, it's about enjoying. Prayer should be like a great date - you don't necessarily remember all that was said, but you certainly enjoyed the time spent with the person. Wow...the Lord God Almighty wants to spend time with you! We would love to have you join us for our Wednesday Night Worship where we spend time enjoying the Lord's presence.
As God followers, we need to spend far more time in praising the Lord for His goodness, greatness and love. You can worship Him through our current praises or we can join you in worshipping Him though your praises. We can also worship the Lord through the requests we bring to Him - not by the asking, but by the acknowledgement of His ability to meet our needs and to work in ways beyond our abilities, and by the faith we exhibit in His faihtfulness. You can worship Him through our current requests or we can join you in worshipping Him through your requests.
We would encourage all Northsiders to regularly visit our Care page to praise the Lord for His goodness to our church family and to pray for those struggling in our church family.
