Dr. Chad Scarbro
Lead Pastor
Chad was born and 'raised up right' in Knoxville TN. He graduated from Powell High School. He met his wife Amber in College at Tennessee Wesleyan University. They have 3 boys and 1 girl and they all share a love for sports. Chad and Amber have been married for 21 years. Chad's life goal is to love God, serve others, and make disciples of Jesus. His daily motivation is to "do consistently what others do occasionally". Chad served in Youth Ministry for 11 years before being called to Lead Pastor at NBC. He loves to spend quality time with his family and his 2 dogs, Bo and Duke!
Daryn Mullholand
Administrative Pastor
Daryn is a St Pete native and graduated from Keswick Christian School in Seminole. He met his wife Tamara while a graduate student at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Daryn & Tamara have attended Northside Baptist Church for their entire married life, and celebrated 28 years of marriage in 2023. They have two sons, Joshua and Jacob, who both graduated from Northside Christian School and are now starting their respective careers. Daryn spent 20 years in the medical industry before God called him to become a pastor here at Northside and he has served Northside in many capacities for the past decade on staff. Daryn loves family vacations, any foods with coconut, playing board games and card games, visiting Northside families and making new friends! Most importantly, Daryn loves to teach God's Word and will tell anyone who is willing to listen about his Savior Jesus!
Stephen Crowley
Pastor of Musical Worship
Stephen's ministry philosophy is to assist the congregation, young and old, to sing the greatness of God. He believes that there is no better sound than God's people singing His praise! Stephen grew up in Florence, SC, and moved to St. Pete in 2025. Stephen served as Pastor of Worship at Discover Fellowship Church in Dade City, FL for 6 years before coming to Northside. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Francis Marion University as well as a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Stephen and his wife Carissa have two children, Preston and Lorien. When they are not serving the local church, they enjoy trips to Disney World, walking around the neighborhood, and finding new places to eat in St. Pete.
Maura Borst
Interim Children's Ministry Director
Maura is passionate about helping young children grow and connect in their relationship to Jesus. She is the oldest daughter in a family of 5. She is a military kid who has experience at a wide variety of churches around the country. "When I was young, I struggled to understand what having a relationship with Jesus really looked like. After my time at Liberty University, I really started praying daily, talking to Jesus about everything with reverence." Maura has volunteered to help in the church since she was very young. She helped in the nursery in elementary school and continued through high school. When she is not at the church building you can find her reading books, playing card games, collecting plants, learning the violin, and baking bread!
Rick Gross
Connections Director
Rick's life goal is to help connect people to what God has for them. Rick would love to see a Super Bowl in person and meet Dave Matthews Band. Rick grew up here in St. Petersburg, graduating from Boca Ciega High School (woohoo class of '99!) Rick and his wife Jenn met while doing community theater. They have two awesome boys, Gavin and Nolan. Together, they form the likes of a family that had never been seen. Rick came to Northside after 8 years experience in full time ministry. He loves to read, watch football or baseball, and find a park to hike at with his family!
Chris Hamilton
Youth Director
Chris is first and foremost a people person. He believes that people are his ministry. Chris was born in Florida but raised in North Carolina. He worked at Word of Life in Florida for 3 summers in camp ministry and served as Student and Young Adult Director at a church in Florence, SC. Chris and his wife Alicia have three children: Theo, Lincoln, and Carter. When they are not at Northside you can find them at Top Golf, parks, beaches, or anywhere with sunshine!
Mark Martini
Maintenance Director
Mark was born in Frederick, Maryland but has lived in St. Pete his whole life. He has a heart for sharing and serving others through Christ. When he isn’t fixing a hole in the steeple you can find him racing both full size and remote control cars. If that does not work check the local auction, that is his second home!
Luke Bowman
Worship Arts Technical Director
Luke has been serving at Northside and grew up serving in audio, video, and lighting. He currently attends St. Pete College and works on the campus as he shares his expertise with the church. Luke believes in "undistracted excellence." He strives to create a Sunday gathering both online and in-person that communicates the gospel clearly. His depth of knowledge and willingness to serve are vital benefits to the music and technological ministry of Northside.
Brandon C. Elam
Head of School, Northside Christian School
Brandon hails from the great state of Kentucky! He and his wife Whitney have a daughter Isla (15) and a son named Everett (14). His passion is for Christian education is rooted in the awe of God’s sovereignty. “I am humbled to be a small part of His work—investing in the next generation by integrating academic excellence with the eternal truths of the Gospel.” Brandon has worked in Education for over 25 years but when he is not at the office you can find him, “busy and happy” chasing his kids from basketball courts and lacrosse fields to band concerts and school plays. When they are not on the sidelines, they love traveling and seeking out new experiences together as a family.
Anita Kennedy
Director of Women's Ministry
Anita is passionate about helping women know God and follow Him through a deeper understanding of His Word. She holds a Master’s degree in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary and leads women’s ministry events and weekly Bible studies. Whether mentoring women one-on-one, writing Bible studies, or sharing life over coffee, Anita loves helping others discover their God-given purpose as she seeks to “Teach Truth, Love Well.” Anita has been happily married to her husband, Mitch, for 38 years. They have two married children and two grandsons. Outside of ministry, she enjoys God’s creation through hiking, cycling, kayaking, and watching sunsets at the beach.
Raul Hernandez
Spanish Pastor
Raul was born in Madrid, Spain. He and his wife, Miriela have been married for 26 years. They have 4 beautiful children. Genesis (23), Jasmine (21), Trinity (19), and Sebastian (14). Raul and Miriela are both in education and have served bi-vocationally for over 20 years. Raul and Miriela both serve at our school! Miriela is the Spanish department head, and Raul serves as the athletic director. They have been members of Northside Baptist Church for 19 years and started the Spanish ministry in 2014. Raul is passionate about developing leaders and has served as a youth pastor, church planter, and senior pastor over the years. When he is not at the school or the church, you can always find him spending time with his family.
Lori Beth Houff
Midweek PreK Director
Lori Beth is originally from Coon Rapids, MN, but now lives in Seminole with her husband, Daniel, their son CJ, and dogs Harley and Darla Mae. Lori Beth is passionate about being a "stepping stone" for children as they first learn about God, using creative crafts to help them remember His Word. With a background as an Awana Puggles Director and Missions Committee Secretary, she finds deep reward in witnessing the growth of little ones and witnessing professions of faith in Christ. She also enjoys serving on the women’s committee by planning uplifting community events. Outside of ministry, Lori Beth loves camping, traveling, and crafting. She is an avid listener of Audible books and an advocate for rescue dogs!
Tamara Mullholand
Nursery Coodinator
Tamara is originally from Massachusetts and has been happily married to Daryn, our Administrative Pastor, since 1995. She is a mom to two awesome boys: Josh and Jake. "I love that we get to give seeds of faith in Jesus and a love for the Bible to the littlest blessings!" She taught in Christian preschools for many years, but loves serving our students and young adults. When she isn't at the church, you can find her at the beach, reading mystery books, and cooking.
